BIOGRAPHY

Constanza Camila Kramer Garfias is a Chilean-German artist living and working in Munich. She holds a Master's degree in Conceptual Textiles from Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design. She also pursued philosophical studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, which inform her theoretical approach to materials and image-making.

Her practice centers on Jacquard weaving as a critical tool for investigating colonial narratives, spatial imaginaries, and material iconographies. Through layered cartographies, interrupted visual codes, and experimental textile structures, she creates works that challenge linear historiography and fixed representation. Residencies and research in Japan deepened her knowledge of plant-based dyeing and traditional techniques, reinforcing her interest in textile as a cultural and temporal medium. Her work has been shown internationally, including at ART BASEL Miami Beach, the Arts and Design Museum Toyama (JP), Gallery Kendra Jayne Patrick (CH), and exhibitions in Berlin, Munich, and New York.
