Making a selfie is something very common these days. In times of smartphones, making a selfie becomes a kind of pleasure. For most selfies uploaded to social networks, users use so-called „face filters“ to modify themselves and their appearance. They want to show themselves from their best side and to appear flawless. Those who are satisfied with their results share them with their followers to present a newly constructed version of themselves. A digital panopticon comes alive.
Based on specially collected selfies, which the artist modified with the help of face filters from the repertoire of social networks she created unique pictures as a base for jacquard fabrics. A dynamic field of tension comes alive between the completely digital, the selfie, and its manifestation in the material, the textile.
